Volunteering and community
engagement are important parts of positive youth development and substance
abuse prevention. GUIDE encourages community service by promoting
volunteer opportunities within Gwinnett County and metro Atlanta and by
accepting youth and adult volunteers for certain programs and events.
We do not
currently have the capacity to accept volunteers on a regular basis.

Helpline is an extensive service with a listing of over 1000 health and human
service agencies including governmental, United Way-funded and other non-profit
organizations. This website directory provides users with available health and
human services in the greater Gwinnett County Area if they need or want help.
Individuals in helping professions, schools, churches, civic organizations and
the business community will find this directory an invaluable source of
information.

Metro Atlanta’s United
Way 211 service is a simple, easy-to-remember number for individuals
across Georgia to call when they want to find or give help. Bilingual,
Spanish-speaking referral specialists are available 24 hours a day and calls
are conducted in 170 languages. Use their website to find services or
look for volunteer opportunities with United Way grantee partners across metro Atlanta.
