Mary Kate acts as a Program Specialist and the Coordinator of the Youth Advisory Board. She has more than 10 years experience in positive youth development. Her journey in this field began when she attended Georgia Teen Institute as a high school student, and she found the program life-changing. She continued to volunteer for GUIDE, Inc. in various capacities since. Now, she is happy to call GUIDE, Inc. home. Previously, Mary Kate worked for another non-profit specializing in health education. She acted as a Project Leader where she developed and implemented multiple wellness initiatives across the state. She taught physical activity and nutrition in over 75 elementary schools statewide. This acted as the catalyst for her passion to motivate and empower youth and adults to make healthy, lifelong choices. Mary Kate received a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a Media Studies concentration from Kennesaw State University in 2007. Clayton State University is her new home where she currently pursues a Master's degree in English. |
